Training with an RYS is the only route to becoming an RYT. The Yoga Alliance used to assess your course's curriculum to check whether it matched theirstandards and then consider your application for registration even if you had not attended an RYS; however, they stopped doing this in 2011.

The quick response at this time is: No.

Five prerequisites are listed by Yoga Alliance for RYT maintenance, with the last two having the most significant impact on your continued eligibility:

  • Abide by the Yoga Alliance's code of conduct, practice guidelines, and member-wide ethical commitment.
  • In addition, observe the Yoga Alliance's policies on the terminology used in yoga therapy.
  • Examine your institution (applicable to new teachers or if you're upgrading your designation following additional training).
  • Every three years, complete the necessary continuing education hours and submit them. The current specifications are:
  • 45 total hours over three years of teaching and 30 hours of continuing education spread over three years (usually a minimum 10 of contact hours, but Yoga Alliance is currently making some concessions due to COVID-19)
  • Pay the yearly fee.
The quick response at this time is: No.

Nobody likes it when they forget to renew their subscription! Your Yoga Alliance membership renewal date can be found in two places:

Additionally, you automatically choose to receive account notifications for membership-related information when you first create your Yoga Alliance account. Yes. You may. You must speak with one of our course counsellors about this.

Health and Safety

Yes, if this is the case, you will get more from the course than anyone else. Yoga is much more than just doing poses physically.

Anywhere in India, drinking tap water is not advised. At our location, filtered water that is pure and safe to drink is always available in the dining area, although it should always be consumed at your own risk. You can get bottled water from us or nearby stores.

Please inform us about any special dietary needs or allergies when making your reservation or upon arrival. We can accommodate various dietary requirements. In addition, our buffet lunches typically provide dairy and gluten-free alternatives.

There has never been a security issue. Lockable closets and drawers are standard in every room. All campus is being watched over by security personnel. However, it is advised that you lock your cottages or rooms whenever you leave and purchase suitable travel insurance for your possessions.

Accommodation and Food

We provide two different types of housing alternatives for our students. They can select communal or private housing according to their preferences. The attached private bathroom in the private accommodation is just for the use of the occupant.

The rooms are large and airy and have adequate ventilation. Each room has access to hot showers, fresh towels, and bed linens. In addition, each room has an attached bathroom, a cabinet, a coffee table, and a chair.

At Jivan Chakra Yoga Center, we serve wholesome, sattvic, vegetarian cuisine to all our students. Without pesticides, all our fruits, vegetables, and legumes are organic.

At our location, we do not provide non-vegetarian food. Ahimsa (non-violence) is one of the founding tenets of yoga, and we uphold it.

We strongly warn our pupils to refrain from engaging in such behaviour on school grounds. You may cleanse your body, mind, and soul with yoga and Ayurveda. Engaging in such behaviour, even outside the settings, will be detrimental.

What to Bring

Bring a little more than yourself, dressed appropriately (see below), and perhaps a tiny bottle of water.

Without a doubt! Even while black yoga pants may have been fashionable a few years ago, you are not required to wear them to your yoga sessions. Practice in your most comfortable clothes, jeans, sweatpants, or leggings! Follow your gut.

In poses like Downward Facing Dog, a yoga mat will offer some cushioning and prevent your hands from slipping. Yoga blocks may be useful for specific postures, but most of the time, you may use something else in their place.

When practising yoga actively, it's best to wear cool-keeping clothing; however, when the body swiftly cools down, carry a sweater for relaxation.
